The Verdict is in...

So we went to the Doctor today and had an ultrasound! I was so excited to find out the sex of this baby. The Technician was really nice, and said she would try her best to find it:) She did all her measuring business, and was nice enough to show us the heart, and stomach, and Spine... I really wanted to know what it was though:) So anyway, she said she thought she knew what it was but needed to get a better angle. Well, she did, and told us that she was almost positive that it was a BOY! We are so happy! I can't wait to get him out of me so i can see his little face:) She couldn't get any profile shot because he was looking straight at us the whole time...beggar:) So sadly i will have to wait to get the beloved profile picture until the next ultrasound. I just wanted to let everyone know, who doesn't already know:)

Circus Fun!

Last night, we took Bailey to her first circus! It was pretty fun, except Bailey was a little grumpy. I think she was just tired, did get a long enough nap:) It was the Shriner Circus. Matt's great uncle is a Shriner. It was cool to see all the acrobatics and fun animals. There were Ponies, elephants, camels, and you could even have your picture taken with a baby bear:) I actually haven't been to the circus ever, so technically it was my first time too:) We loved it!

16 Weeks Doctors Appointment

I had my 16 week check up yesterday, and everything went great! We finally got to hear the heartbeat. It was so amazing! It is a great feeling to know that everything is going well so far:) I have my 20 week ultrasound, to find out what i am having, on May 6th:) I can't wait, just 4 more weeks and i can start calling this baby by name:) Yes, we have names:) I am not telling yet though. You never know, we could change our minds. Anyway, all is well in baby land.



Fetal Development
Your baby now weighs about 2.8 ounces, and measures about 4.3 to 4.6 inches long. You may have an ultrasound scheduled soon which may tell you, if you want to know, whether it is a boy or a girl. Your baby's fingernails and toenails are now fully formed, and internally your baby's urinary tract and bladder are functioning, emptying about once every hour.

Easter Mania:)

Easter was so fun this year, especially since Bailey is old enough to really enjoy it. We woke up early so Bailey could find her easter basket before church at 9am. She was so excited, to get candy in the morning:) We went to church and Bailey finally got to wear her new easter dress that she has been begging to wear for the past 3 weeks. It was a really spiritual day at church, which was nice. Can i just put a plug in for our nursery program. I love it! Bailey seriously learns so much in there and loves it. They do really spiritual and educational lessons for these young children, so i really appreciate them. Anyway, after church, we went to Matt's grandparents house and had an easter egg hunt with the 4 grandkids. It was so fun. They all loved it. Then we headed to Matt's mom's for dinner, which was so yummy. Bailey made out pretty good, she got 4 easter baskets, with tons of candy and toys. It was a great Easter!

12 Week Doctor's Appointment

So I had my 12 week check up. Matt and Bailey both came because as you know they listen for the heartbeat at 12 weeks. So my Dr. comes in and is so excited about babies. He is really funny and sweet, i think i may request him all the time.(there are 8 Dr.'s in this office) Anyway, so I get up on the table and he dose the little sound monitor on my stomach and we couldn't hear the heartbeat. He said it was probably because my uterus tilts backwards. Needless to say thoughts of problems crept into my mind. He was just asking me questions and telling me when to set up my 16 week check up...and all i could think about was if the baby was ok. He was so kind and could tell that i was disappointed, so he asked if i wanted to have an ultrasound, if they could squeeze me in. Of course, i said yes. So we had to wait about 20 minutes, but they got us in. The technician was telling us she could only check for the fetal heart rate and that was it, but she couldn't find it either. She decided to do an internal ultrasound, yuck. I was so glad she did though, the baby was fine. The heart rate was great and i actually got to see it on the screen. It was kicking and moving so much. Weird that i can't even feel it. So i got a nice surprise, since i have never gotten to see a baby on an ultrasound at the 12 week stage. It was so awesome, even though Bailey did try to open the door while I was on the table. That could have been embarrassing. Anyway, all is well in baby land and I am so excited to find out what this little one is:)



Fetal Development

Your baby weighs about 14 grams and is about 2-1/2 inches in length. His or her reflexes are functioning, and the digestive tract is active and secreting bile - all to prepare your baby for life outside of your body. Stem cells, the "mother cells" that will become heart, brain, liver, bone, blood, nerve, and immune cells, continue to differentiate to form your baby's major organs. Although your baby's brain continues to grow, the components now have the same structure they will have at birth. If your OB or midwife uses a fetal Doppler, you may be able to listen to your baby's heartbeat - many moms-to-be are amazed by how fast it is. This may be the sweetest sound you have ever heard.

Utah Trip

So I went to Utah from the 26th to the 1st. I had so much fun in so little time:) I stayed with my sister, Amy for 3 days and my cousin Heather for 2. Amy is a blast and she was up to do pretty much anything, working round her kids, of course:) Bailey had a ton of fun playing with her cousins and fighting with them:) My parents were out there at the same time and Amy , Gina, and I decided to go and surprise them at the airport. So there we are in Terminal 1 for like 30 minutes. My parents were no where to be found. Then, Gina said what airline are they on, Delta? Yes...Delta has it's own terminal! so we ran over to terminal 2 and needless to say, we missed them:) We are dorks! The next day we hung out with my parents and the girls got to have a night out. Amy, Gina, Suzanne, my mom, and I went and say PS I Love You. Soooooo cute! All girls must see this movie:) Amy and I pretty much hung out all day Thursday and and went over Gina's for a while, and saw my parents. Friday Amy and I went shopping for some fun stuff and then Heather came over to get me. WE pretty much had a blast just laughing and visiting, with Aunt Diane and Shannon later. Heather, Shannon, and I went and saw Juno at 10:30 pm on Friday and didn't get home til about 1 am. We had so much fun! Saturday the 3 of us went to Johnny Carinos for lunch ( yum), Bailey was less then thrilled to be there, and it took all three of us to get her out of her high chair because she was holding on so tight with her legs. Then Heather drove me to the airport in a blizzard and my plane left about 40 min late. It was the worst flight. It was so bumpy that it's a wonder that I didn't throw up. Bailey was sick the whole time too, in fact in the car on the way home from the airport, she finally lost it and barfed all over herself in her car seat. It was nasty, poor baby:( So that was my exciting trip. Sorry it was so long, and i am lame and forgot to bring my camera, so i will steal a pic from Heather's page:)
